Human Trafficking is the illegal selling and trading of human beings for their bodies and labour for financial and personal gain.
HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN ESWATINI.
Statistics show that, globally, 27 million people are trafficked every year, and an estimated 1.2 million are children. Of those trafficked, only 1% will be rescued. In Eswatini, the problem has become alarming—orphans, vulnerable children, babies, and albinos are often targeted, as well as families in conditions of poverty and desperation. HopeAlive268 is combating human trafficking in Eswatini through our HA268 Anti-Human Trafficking Division. We produced a video for older youth and adults that brings awareness and education to this horrific crime. For the younger children, we wrote a children’s book titled “You Are the Only You,” which gently teaches young children about stranger danger and self-care. We work closely with our local government’s Anti-Human Trafficking Division and have presentations at schools, care points, medical facilities, places of employment, and churches and many other locations to bring awareness and save lives. Prevention is essential.
